From Zero to Almost Hero

    3 Days (3x2h)| STARTING AT €450 | Get to waterstart

    This getting started course includes learning safety, weather conditions, kite and power control, launching and landing the kite, body dragging, self-rescue, and water start with a few meters of downwind riding. One thing to keep in mind is that different people learn at a different pace. So if you are a fast learner, you might be able to finish this course much faster and move unto the advanced segment.

    Price includes:

    • 6 Hours course
    • Transfer by zodiac to and from our spot (platform/boat)
    • Transfer to and from hotel in Safaga/Soma Bay Area
    • Full gear from Duotone and safety equipment (vest, helmet shoes, wetsuit)

    If you’re still feeling that you aren’t there yet, you have the option to take extra lessons for €90 per hour.

    Level 1 & Level 2 course Includes

    Know safe wind directions, the wind window and power zones, kitesurfing conditions and understand hazards
    Setting up the trainer kite and understanding safety systems
    Learn basic flying skills with the trainer kite and master launching and landing
    Setup of 4/5 line kites with full de-power systems and performing pre-flight and inflight checks and settings
    Learn assisted launch and land of 4/5 line kites until you are able to self land.
    Learn kite control and understand de-power and safety systems.
    Learn water entry and exit independently while safely controlling the kite
    Learn water relaunch and downwind body dragging while keeping the kite controlled and stable, as well as switching positions and direction.
    Learn self-rescue and upwind body dragging for board recovery
    Learn upwind body dragging while holding the board with one hand
    Learn to enter and exit the water safely from the same point while upwind wind body dragging

    This course includes everything from the beginner Zero to Almost Hero course plus it focuses on water start, riding the first meters and riding comfortably upwind. Once you successfully finish this course, you are ready to starting train on your own without any assistance and try your first tricks. One thing to keep in mind is that different people learn at a different pace. So if you are a fast learner, you might be able to finish this course much faster and start doing your first tricks quicker.

    There is nothing worse than travelling all this way, eager to get on the water and only to realise that you forgot some of your gear at home, or the kite you brought isn’t suitable for the wind conditions. Maybe, you just completed your course, everything is still fresh in your mind and want to get those extra hours of practice on the water. Or maybe you found it too warm for the heavy wetsuit you brought with you, or you had a line break. Lots of maybes and things do happen!

    The spot

    To make your experience as memorable as possible we have a phenomenal spot in the middle of the water. Our big playground fits any number of people. It has the sand, shallow flat and deep water, and choppy water too if you are into that.

    The Boat

    Parked in the middle of crystal clear water, “The boat” has all you need.

    From drinking water and hot and cold beverages to lunch, fruits, chocolates, and toilets, as well as fresh water for a quick shower. There’s an open radio connection between the boat and the zodiacs, in case of anything you would need. Furthermore, professional first aid kit is available as well.
